Niche 研究機構根據政府及公家機關所提供的數據﹑30 萬名學生與家長的意見﹑數十個統計因素與及數以百萬計的學生成績才得出這項排行榜。

評分標準包括了學業成績、教師、衛生、安全、資源、設施、課外活動、體育和健身各個方面的表現。分數越高除了代表以上表現越高以外也表示學區內學校具多元化發展趨勢，並有積極正面的學校文化。
