Stephen Gamson 告訴記者，他認為女子輕敲這件作品，是想確認它是不是真的氣球。根據社群網路影片，旁觀者拍下藝廊員工正在清掃玻璃碎片，一旁有人說，「我不敢相信有人把它弄倒了」。

贊助 Jeff Koons 作品的 Bel-Air Fine Art 的藝術顧問 Benedicte Caluch 告訴 Miami Herald「邁阿密前鋒報」，那名女子並非故意打破這件作品，而保險將賠償這筆損失。
