上一篇提到大部分学生进入医学院的路，进大学、拿必修课、申请医学院。有另外一条路，比较接近台湾医学系的概念，让学生从大学开始，进入一套制定的系统念书，之后“直升”医学院。这种系统不消说，非常难进。这篇就跟大家分享这条路的资料。在Google打入“BS/MD programs”，就可以看到不少网站专门介绍这种programs。这种学士/博士合并programs，从六年到九年都有，绝大部分是七年跟八年，大学课程念三年，医学院念四或五年。就我找到的资料看来，录取率比我想像的要高，大约在10%左右。但是因为申请的人不多，所以看录取率可能不是最准确的标准。

那要申请会需要什么资格呢?除了基本的成绩(GPA & SAT or ACT)跟校外活动(实习之类的)以外，还会有面试、文章(通常是你为什么要当医生)、跟推荐信。从高中要申请进的过程，其实跟申请普通大学的过程没有太大的差别。
真正开始有差别的是在进大学之后，并不是直接保送医学院，还会有第二层的标准要达到，才可以进入医学院。
譬如说Boston University要求学生需要在Science的课程保持3.2的GPA，MCAT则是需要考到80百分比以上 (资料来源)。
Washington University 则是要求3.8GPA跟MCAT达到97百分比 (资料来源)
Drexel Univeristy 要求数学、生物、化学、物理要有平均3.6的GPA，MCAT要511分 (资料来源)
进入这些program的学生，学校都会特别礼遇，譬如说搭配上专门的辅导帮助选课，或是在校内找研究机会的机率也比较高。但是这种program除非学生很清楚知道自己的未来，心智跟能力也都有一定成熟度，不然会很痛苦。
